ROUTINE VISION CHECKING IS DONE Both for CENTRAL VISUAL ACUITY FOR DISTANT VISION (6 METERS TO INFINITY) & FOR NEAR VISION ( FROM ARM ‘S DISTANCE ( 30 CM TO 50 CM)
Normal Distant vision is measured as 6/6,which means
VA VISUAL ACUITY IS expressed as Fraction in which 1) Numerator is fixed distance of reading CHART=6 meters
2) Denominator is numerical No written underneath The LINE Up upto which the patient can read on CHART
VA 6/24 means the Low Vision person can read 24 metres line only from 6 M distances where as Normal vision person could have read it from 24 M ( meters)
